About
I didn't start painting until I was in my 30s. With no prior art experience, I completed a wretched-looking citrus watercolor from a 'Let's Make Art' tutorial (see below), and I loved every second of it. I signed it, hung it on the fridge like a proud toddler, and have been painting ever since. I eventually sought formal art training to learn foundational skills and mixed media techniques.
My style is a mix of abstract expressionism and realism. I start with mixed media: spray paint, gold leaf, inks, charcoal, collage, etc, then finish with oil paint to add detail and form.
Originally from Arizona, I now live on a grass seed farm in Linn County, Oregon with my husband, daughter, a lot of sheep, a few hens, and a rooster named Bruce.
